After working in nursing for the last 15 years, I have decided to pursue a career change. I have studied occupational safety, acquisition, and procurement for over a year, and I am seeking experience while pursuing a bachelor’s degree. I have developed strong leadership skills and work ethic through previous work experience in healthcare and the military. Provides wound care and suction as needed. Preforms lab draws and inpatient test as needed. Monitors and report changes in mental status.

Worked in a Rehab Unit for most of the pandemic. Stayed flexible and went through the transition when the unit I am assigned went from skilled care to a COVID unit, back to skilled care over 18 months. Worked in a Team Leader role and I acted as a Clinical Coordinator.

Administrator for a local home health company. At peak, processed approx. 25 admissions a week. In charge of both office staff and clinical staff. Made schedules for up to 5 RNs to do daily visits from New Castle to Smith Mountain Lake. In charge of maintaining State compliance. Took part in hiring and disciplinary action for both clinical and office staff.

Dropped to part time status while at leadership roles with other companies. Company changed names 3 times in the last 24 months I was there.

United States Army/ Virginia National Guard

Combat Medic

December 2008 to December 2014

Earned my EMT and became a Combat Medic in the US Army through the Virginia National Guard. Deployed to Iraq as Combat Medic in 2011 and received numerous awards for service and merit including CAB (Combat Action Badge). Received years of accumulative training not available to vast majority of civilians. Experiences in the military are unmatched by any other school or training I have received.
